SO HOW DO I MAKE AN ENQUIRY OR BOOKING? Bookings can be made by Email or by phoning (07) 3880 3312 To Secure your booking a Minimum of 1/3rd DEPOSIT is required immediately to confirm a FULL BOAT booking – or 50% for smaller groups. The balance is then payable to the Skipper in CASH, upon boarding the vessel prior to departure. PLEASE NOTE that when a full boat booking is made, the full charter rate must be paid regardless of the number of passengers turning up on the day.
WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER BEEN FISHING BEFORE, IS THAT A PROBLEM? Absolutely not, we give you all the tuition you need to achieve an excellent fishing technique, Our skippers and deckhands are more than happy to help you catch the fish of your dreams. First timers are made to feel more than welcome.
CAN I KEEP THE FISH THAT I CATCH? - Yes, as long as they are the legal size you can either choose to keep them or release them.
SO WHAT DO I GET FOR MY MONEY? WHATS INCLUDED IN THE DEAL? - All bait and tackle, plus the use of our top quality "Penn" Rods and "Alvey" and "Okuma" Reels. Also included is Tea & Coffee prior to departure, Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Iced Water. * Alcohol (BYO) To meet our Health and Safety obligations and maintain a safe environment for all, please observe our alcohol policy. 6 cans or equivalent per person. Guests arriving intoxicated won't be going fishing. Refund will not apply in this instance.
SO WHERE DOES THE REEL EASY FISHING EXPERIENCE BEGIN? We depart daily (weather permitting) from Scarborough Marina, 28 Thurecht Parade Scarborough. Usually we try and depart at 5.00a.m. (please be there by 4.45 am) and we return at approximately 3.00 p.m. (Other departure points and pickups are available by arrangement.)
WHAT ABOUT PARKING AT THE MARINA?- Free off street parking is available opposite the marina.
WHAT IS THE COST TO HIRE THE WHOLE BOAT AND CREW? Check out our prices page for the most up to date prices. Or contact us if you have an event happening and we will be happy to work out a deal for you.
WHAT HAPPENS IN BAD WEATHER? We recommend that you book your trip as early as possible, so that we can reschedule in case of unsafe weather, (ie strong wind or and high seas)If unfavorable weather conditions have been forecast over 20 knots on the day of your fishing charter, we will postpone your trip for a more suitable day or refund your deposit. Customer satisfaction is a high priority to Reel Easy Charters. For your safety and comfort, the charter depends upon prevailing weather conditions. It will therefore be necessary for you to contact us on (07) 3880 3312 – immediately after the weather report following the six o'clock news, on the evening prior to charter, to confirm weather and departure arrangements. Cancellation due to weather – will be rescheduled.
WHAT FISHING METHODS DO YOU USE? There are live baits tank on board both "So Big" and "So Reelaxing" so we can"jig for livies" for those bigger fish if you are willing to work hard to catch them but we use various fishing methods including bottom fishing, live baiting, trolling and more.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING? Our Fishing Charters are all inclusive however we have a few hints of what to bring & wear. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera, shoes, sensible clothing. It is recommended not wear expensive shoes and make sure they are shoes you don't mind getting wet. If you have a long drive home you may want to bring an esky to keep your fish in. We cannot supply seasickness tablets or any other medications on board. We recommend all passengers take seasickness tablets in which you can purchase from a chemist at minimal cost
WILL SEASICKNESS TABLETS HELP ME? In most cases seasickness tablets can prevent you from getting sick. We cannot supply seasickness tablets or any other medications on board. If you wish to take seasickness tablets to reduce the risk of being sick you will need to purchase these tablets from a chemist before the charter and read the directions in regard to taking them. (Some tablets require you to take one tablet the night before and another 1 hour before boarding the boat.) Please contact your doctor to check if these tablets interfere with your other medications before taking them.
